The spirit of this woven fiber teapot is Janis Joplin. It is one of a series of Temptress' in a Teapot.

The inspiration for this woven teapot is Josephine Baker, another in the Temptress' in a Teapot series.
Techniques used in this teapot include; knotting, coiling, beading, stitching. Madonna has carefully, if somewhat controversialy created her own persona. This playful work depicts an overall impression but also is meant to emphasize points that 'sell' a female entertainer like Madonna.

Tina Turner is the inspiration for this woven teapot. Another in the Temptress in a Teapot series.
