Fettered Spirits Exhibit

Fettered Spirits Exhibit

This exhibit consisted of 18 works which are all impressions of nature.  However, as the title of the show suggests the images are not just impression of nature but each has some slightly ominous aspect.  The reference is to a trend which I see in today's political climate of a restriction of personal and religious freedom.  The pleasant aspect of the works echoes the seductive quality of protectionist policies.

The first photos show my work installed before Timothy Sullivan installed his ceramics.  His exhibit was entitled Alchemical Transmutation.

These photos were taken at the IAO Gallery in Oklahoma City.  The exhibit was there during the month of October

These same works were installed during the month of December as a solo show at the Living Arts Gallery in Tulsa.

There is a variety of media used in the pieces creating diversity while the imagery and metaphor are cohesive elements.

The IAO Gallery has several movable walls which was helpful in organizing the installation of the exhibit.

It was a pleasant evening in October for the opening.

My husband is the tall man on the left in the photo and next to me on the other side is a friend.

A number of Tim?s student from the university where he teaches came to the opening.

Tim's ceramic works and my wall mounted mixed media and fiber works were a nice blend for the exhibit.

The individual pieces for this exhibit are in the Gallery section of this website under Fettered Spirits.
